Shruti Iyengar
Investment Director
Shruti Iyengar is an Investment Director at Future Planet Capital, where she leads the Space sub-fund within the UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund (UKI2S) and serves on the Investment Committee of the Blue Ocean Fund. She currently sits on the Advisory Board of the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL), one of the UK’s leading national research laboratories. She serves on the boards of several deep-tech companies spanning hydrogen production, methane monitoring, sustainable rare earth element production, and multiple space technology sectors.
She has spent the last decade working across the early-stage investment ecosystem and is a regular mentor, investment expert, and judge for programmes including the UK Space Agency Accelerator, ESA Business Incubation Centre, Fusion Accelerator, and Tech Tour Space. She also contributes to industry panels and juries including the Economist Space Summit, BVCA, London Tech Week, Blue Earth Summit, SeedLegals Startup Awards, and Innovation Zero.
Prior to joining Future Planet Capital, she was an Investor at Sustainable Ventures, where she managed a portfolio of 36 climate technology companies and led the fund’s accelerator programme.
Earlier in her career, Shruti was based in Singapore, where she worked across Southeast Asia with governments, corporates, and innovation agencies, delivering programmes across the advanced manufacturing, precision engineering, environmental and water technologies, energy, healthcare, and robotics sectors.
Shruti holds a dual degree in Mathematics and Economics from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and is a Women’s Merit Scholar from London Business School’s Master’s in Finance programme.
