Massimo Noro
Dr Massimo Noro is a digital expert and a successful business leader, with a proven track record of delivering technical innovation in complex environments.
Massimo, as designated Director, represents UKRI-Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC) as the Special Partner in UKI2S.
In 2018 was appointed Director for Business Development for STFC, based at the Daresbury Campus. His role has three dimensions:
- lead the business development team embedded across STFC technical department and translate the great science and technology into impactful innovation,
- lead the business incubation activities and programmes and provide technical and wrap-around business support to early-stage deep-tech companies,
- work in partnership with the wider Sci-Tech Daresbury Campus to develop an effective ecosystem where companies grow successfully.
Prior to 2018, Massimo developed an industrial science career; he rose through the ranks in Unilever, a giant in the fast-moving consumer goods sector, with global R&D roles interfacing with key academic institutions and government bodies.
Massimo has a PhD in physical chemistry from UCLA and is well published in soft matter and self-assembling systems. He is a fellow of the Institute of Physics and held previously visiting professor positions.
