• Sention Technologies has secured a £3.7 million seed round to commercialise its battery diagnostics technologies. The round was led by Twin Path Ventures and joined by Doral Energy-Tech Ventures, Endgame Capital, Energy Revolution Ventures, G.K. Goh Ventures, Green Angel Ventures, Third Sphere and UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund.

The London-based start-up has developed proprietary ultrasonic scanning technology that provides unparalleled insights into the internal structure of batteries. Their revolutionary contactless technology allows customers to ‘see inside’ batteries by listening to them. By combining this rapid and low-cost technique with its AI-driven data fusion software, Sention predicts cell health, grades batteries, and forecasts failure. These capabilities empower battery manufacturers, technology developers and fleet integrators to reduce waste, enhance performance and improve safety.

Sention CEO, Dan Brett, says:

"This funding represents a significant milestone for Sention as we continue to innovate at the forefront of battery diagnostics. We are grateful to our investors for supporting our mission to enable the electrochemical power revolution by enhancing the performance, quality, and safety of batteries.”

“One of the reasons we have managed to accomplish so much so far stems from being founded within the Prosemino venture builder, which provides labs and expertise to turbocharge early-stage companies toward success and VC investment.”

Building on existing international sales, Sention will use the funds to accelerate the commercialisation of its Senturion ultrasound instruments that offer real-time, non-invasive 3D scanning of the internal structure of batteries, as well as its AI-driven data fusion software, Sentinel. The company will also invest in R&D for its next-generation product, Sentry, designed to integrate directly into production lines. Additional funding will support international customer acquisition, enabling Sention to serve a broader spectrum of battery manufacturers and energy innovators.

John Spindler of Twin Path Ventures says:

“Sention has enormous potential to transform the way batteries are developed, manufactured and used. Their technology uses the power of machine learning to predict how batteries perform, age and fail. As an AI specialist fund, we are excited by the tremendous potential that AI has to shape the battery industry.”

Mark White, Investment Director at UKI2S, said:

“Sention Technologies is tackling one of the most critical challenges in the battery ecosystem – quality. Their approach not only helps reduce waste and enhance safety, it unlocks opportunities across sectors where battery reliability is critical. At UKI2S, we’re particularly excited about the potential this has in high-stakes and emerging markets. Sention’s technology is foundational to the next era of battery trust and performance.”
