On 29 June, Dr Andrew Muir, UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund’s Investment Director & Fund Principal, will speak at the 18th Venturefest 2016 event in Oxford, an annual event that brings together innovators, investors and entrepreneurs to make connections that lead to new investments, new businesses and new ideas in the high-tech sector. As part of the morning “Pitching for Success” session, Andy will give an overview of what he looks for when funding a company and answer questions from the audience. Andy will be joined by speakers from venture funding, crowd investment and public sector funding including Byron Woodmansee of JustInvesting, Clive Hayter of Innovate UK, Eileen Modral of OION, Lucius Cary of Oxford Technology Management, and Roy Gunter of Mobility Ventures.
On 22 June, UKI2S Director Mark White, will participate on an investor panel at Tech Invest London. Entrepreneurs looking for their next round of growth finance, having raised up to £5million in the last two years, will have 15 minutes to present and discuss their growth strategy. Mark will be joined on the investor panel by Simon Murdoch, Managing Partner at Episode 1; Lex Deaks, Founding Partner at QVentures; Ian Merricks from Whitehorse Capital; and Adam Tavener, Chairman of the Alternative Business Funding Group.
